Marianne Berenhaut creates poetic sculptures assembled from so-called ‘discarded’ objects. An oppressive silence envelops her installations; there is a sense of sadness or foreboding in the air, as if an unknown human fate is being evoked, as if the objects are attempting to re-express a forgotten life story. Through a unique visual language, she tells stories of longing, absence, trauma and memory.
