The Lipstick & Gas Masks series was created in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. When the media stopped reporting on this theme, Mohadjerin started looking, locally, for an enduring image. She connects and spends time with the female activists that have played important roles. She portrays them, engages in conversation, wants to see the events through their eyes and wonders which images can summarise this moment. Afterwards, Mohadjerin continues this project in a research project at the Antwerp Academy.
